Two Hungarians, Ádám and Adorján, began a 38-month, 47,000-kilometer world cycling journey together but returned home separately. Marked by challenges, tensions, and countless adventures, the expedition profoundly transformed them, leaving an enduring impact on their perspectives.

In 2015, Ádám and Adorján began a minimally prepared bicycle world tour, avoiding information that might shape their experiences. Ádám planned to document the journey, equipping their bikes with filmmaking gear. Despite Ádám’s editing experience, their skills grew during the trip, producing all recordings themselves. However, their differing personalities caused tension, leading to separation.

Ádám, experienced in nomadic travel, faced challenges with Adorján, who, coming from a comfortable urban life, had naive expectations. Doubts grew as Ádám questioned their decision. Temporary separations became permanent two-thirds into the trip.

They toured Europe and Asia together but traveled separately through Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific islands, briefly reuniting in Japan before Adorján’s injury strained their bond. In California, Ecuadorian cyclist Oswaldo joined Ádám and later completed the Americas with him. Meanwhile, Adorján left in Mexico, opting to finish the journey solo.

Ádám and Adorján met countless kind-hearted people whose genuine interactions transcended cultural differences, inspiring them to face new challenges and discoveries. The vulnerability they experienced helped them grow as travelers and deepened their self-understanding.

The series, based on HD and 4K footage from their 2015–2018 cycling journey, is enriched with studio interviews featuring Ádám, Adorján, and Oswaldo. These interviews provide insight into the emotional and psychological struggles, uncovering unseen dynamics behind the footage. Map animations further illustrate the vast scale of their expedition.

Structure and Format

The series consists of 18 episodes, each approximately 25 minutes long. Each episode is built around 1-2 dramatic events, which help shape the narrative and provide focus for the story.

As the series progresses, viewers are gradually introduced to:
The emotional journeys of Ádám, Adorján, and Oswaldo.
The evolving relationship between the travelers and the different cultures they encounter.
The deeper understanding of the world and themselves that emerges as they continue their journey.

Adorján’s boundless optimism is matched only by his love for life. With a dreamy, slightly absent-minded personality, he seems almost otherworldly. Formerly an IT engineer for seven years in Budapest, he left the corporate world to pursue what he calls „true creation,” embarking on a journey to align his passions with his goals.

Inspired by following Ádám’s travels, a conversation sparked the idea of a world tour, and Adorján spontaneously agreed. Though new to long-distance cycling and a nomadic lifestyle, he quickly embraced this exciting new path. His mission is to create value for himself and others while fostering greater love on Earth.

Ádám is a strong, passionate, and polarizing personality. A born traveler and man of extremes, he values honesty, even at the cost of discomfort. Balancing bluntness with sensitivity, he is introspective and spiritual but not religious. Often differing from those around him, Ádám is comfortable being solitary yet inconsistent in approachability.

He avoids strict planning but sees order as vital for success, combining meticulousness with spontaneity. Determined and driven, he never abandons his dreams, thriving under pressure and finding motivation in challenges. The world tour was his idea, reflecting his unwavering commitment to self-discovery, for which he’s willing to sacrifice anything.

Oswaldo, a true economist at heart, trusts in numbers above all. With dual citizenship in Ecuador and the U.S., he splits his time between Chicago and Cuenca. Though good with people, he is naturally reserved and keeps others at a distance. Preferring calm predictability over passion, he views cycling as a sport, reflected in his minimalist yet efficient gear.

Originally planning to cycle solo from New York to Ecuador, he adapted when his companion backed out. Three months into his trip, he met Ádám and Adorján in Mexico. Inspired by their adventurous spirit, especially Ádám’s, he extended his journey by 18 months beyond his hometown.

Over the past century, humanity has exploited nature, upsetting the balance of sustainability. We have built a vast system consuming Earth’s resources, driven by endless desire despite unprecedented comfort. The consequences of this imbalance are already severe.

To highlight the need for moderation and harmony with nature, we planted 43 native trees across 39 countries during our journey—symbolic gratitude for nature’s selfless service. Traveling by bicycle allowed us to connect deeply with the environment while minimizing our carbon footprint. Our documentary series, likely among the lowest-emission ever made, showcases what is possible when we act for a greater cause.

It began with an irresistible inner call—an urge that outweighed comfort and fear, pushing me to seek the truth about myself and my connection to the world. I learned that true freedom lies not in circumstances but in mindset and that self-discovery comes only through experience.

The circle, symbolizing wholeness, represents the beginning, the journey, and the arrival. Cycling around the world became a journey within—a path to come full circle and truly discover who I am.
